Shiny “Neo” Planes Will Improve Fuel Economy by 15%

Something "neo" is on the horizon — and it will take us further than ever before. In 2016, JetBlue placed orders for an additional 15 Airbus “neo” aircraft. "New engine option" planes combine the benefits of Sharklets with newly designed engines and cabin changes to improve fuel economy by 15%.

When they arrive in 2018, JetBlue will save more than 500,000 gallons of fuel burn per year, and we’ll be one step closer to fulfilling our American Business Act on Climate Pledge. We’re heading for the industry-wide destination, carbon neutral 2020, so take your seat and prepare for take off.

“We are taking steps to build and maintain a sustainable future, ensuring carbon-neutral growth for our industry beginning in 2020.”
